Rule #1: Florida "Tree Ripe" means the mango is grown to full
maturity, picked and packed by hand. We will not pick our mangos before they are ripe!
Rule#2: Our Florida Tree Ripe Mangos are grown in the USA's only
subtropical climate, located at the top of the Florida Keys.
Rule #3: Only eat our Florida Tree Ripe Mangos when soft to the touch.
The softer the juicier! A little salt makes it even sweeter.
Rule #4: Our Florida Tree Ripe Mangos are great on ice cream, in pies, in
smoothies, milkshakes, salads or simply sliced and eaten!

As we swing into high gear of
the mango season, we at Fresh King would like to share with you some exciting facts
regarding our Drippy Elbow-Banana Mango variety. We hope that the name alone conjures up
visions of just how juicy and sweet they are. Just think of the most luscious peach you
have ever eaten, but with a delightful tropical twist!!!
Our Drippy Elbow-Banana Mangos are grown in the mountains of the
Caribbean, hand picked, loaded into burlap sacks and brought down to our packing house by
pack mules. There we pre-cool and grade all of the mangos by hand. They are then packed
and shipped to us, at our packing plant in Homestead, FL. The final step is when we
re-grade and repack them to ensure top quality. Our Drippy Elbow-Banana Mangoes are
available February through September.
Next, we would like to give you some ripening information. Our Banana Mango starts out an
even light green color. The mango starts turning a yellowish color as it ripens. Hence the
name "Banana Mango". As with the banana, some brown freckles and rub marks (from
the burlap bags) will appear. This becomes more prominent as the ripening process
continues. Don't worry about it, it's normal and won't affect the quality or edibility.
When the mango has turned golden yellow and gives slightly to the touch, it is fully ripe.
A little wrinkling is also normal.
You are now ready to enjoy the sweetest, most luscious mango you have ever
sunk your teeth into. Enjoy and remember at Fresh King, we strive for the utmost quality
and want to help keep "America Strong & Healthy!"
